When Nicole Best sent me an email asking me if I wanted to read her book I was immediately intrigued. She’d come across my instagram profile and really liked it, and thought that I might like her poetry book. So I said yes to this undiscovered part of literature that I have absolutely no knowledge of.

The book is divided into three parts; Pre, during and post. The three phases of relationships and dating for that sake. And it’s so honest and relatable. I think it really speaks to dating for women, but it could just as easily be for men. Haikantwithyou kind of transforms that scary place where you’re all alone wondering if you’re crazy, to a place of comfort knowing that this is the normal thing.

I’m still young, I have only had one really serious relationship and we’re still going strong five years later. This book really spoke to me in a lot of ways. From the nervousness of meeting someone, to the sigh that comes when your period comes, or when you’ve broken up and all you want to do is be with them again. So this book just really was something. I liked it, and I felt like it told this truth that is rarely talked about.

I absolutely recommend this if you like modern poetry, something to relate to!
